So what about the role?

This is a pivotal role for the finance team and the right individual must be instrumental in helping them achieve their goals and drive forward process and system improvements.

Here’s just some of the ‘things’ you might be working on:

  • To assist the Financial Controller in all aspects of the monthly accounts including;
    • Detailed control account and bank reconciliations
    • VAT returns and HMRC submissions
    • Month end journal
    • Holiday/sickness ledger cover
  • Assist in the creation and development of current/new processes and systems and be able to produce ad hoc accounting analyses

So, what essential things do we need you to have?

  • Experience of working in a busy non-practice accounts environment, detailed account reconciliations incl. bank
  • Detailed knowledge of all ledger workings
  • Good XL skills (incl Pivots & Lookups) – ability to follow complex formulae
  • Use of Accounting Software

1st Line Technical Support Advisor

Reporting directly to our Operations Manager... Here's just some of the 'stuff' you might be working on:

  • Taking support calls over the phone, accurately recording the problem in detail and providing first-line resolution
  • Taking ownership and analysing incoming support tickets, communicating with the reseller and working towards a resolution
  • Escalating to 2nd line support (if necessary) and providing accurate and detailed description of the problem
  • Ensuring that problems are resolved within stated Service Level Agreement targets
  • Participating in continuous service improvement activities, assisting with root cause analysis

So, what essential things do we need you to have?

  • Previous first line support experience, with a strong ethos for going the extra mile
  • Demonstrable skills in email, networking, internet and related technologies
  • A particularly strong understanding of email technologies is essential as hosted mail is our core business
  • Deep understanding of Outlook configuration, SMTP settings and related DNS records
  • Understanding of operating systems (primarily Windows) and core networking principles will give a good foundation for this role

1st Line Technical Support Apprentice

Role Purpose

To develop the key skills, qualifications and customer skills to operate in a 1st Line Technical Support role.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Take support calls over the phone, accurately recording problem details and providing first-line resolution
  • Analyse and take ownership of incoming support tickets, communicating with the reseller and working towards a resolution
  • Where necessary escalate to 2nd line support, providing accurate and detailed description of the problem, diagnostic steps already carried out, etc
  • Ensure that problems are resolved within stated Service Level Agreement targets
  • Participate in continuous service improvement activities, assisting with root cause analysis

Essential Experience & Skills

  • A real interest in working in a technical role
  • Some experience of building PCs as a hobby

Web Designer/Developer

For you to succeed in this role, you will need to be highly proficient in HTML, CSS and have solid knowledge of responsive design and SEO best practices. You must be highly adaptable as you will constantly work across a range of projects including some offline, always with our brand objectives at the heart of all you do. It’s a role where you’ll never be bored!!

Here's just some of the 'stuff' you might be working on:

  • Web design and all elements associated including building, maintaining, and updating the Giacom website
  • Responsive email/web design
  • Branding marketing materials

So, what essential things do we need you to have?

  • A proven eye for responsive design with attention to user experience and SEO best practices
  • Strong skills in software coding
  • Understanding of Google Analytics
  • An understanding of JavaScript, jQuery, PHP
  • Able to effectively troubleshoot issues and create complete solutions
  • Working knowledge of graphics programs within the Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Who are you?

The ideal candidate must have demonstrable experience of leading the development and day to day running of a Technical Support Team. We’re looking for someone who has a passion for developing individuals to deliver one of our key visions of being trusted experts for our customers.

So what about the role?

This is a pivotal role for the business as the department takes and manages all incoming support issues for the business. Here’s just some of the ‘things’ you will be working and leading on:

  • Responsible for delivering world class support to Giacom’s customer base of 4k IT resellers and IT consultants.
  • Lead and motivate a team of up to ten 1st and 2nd line technical support analysts.
  • Drive the development of individual and team competencies.
  • Assess and drive quality of interactions across all communications channels – phone, ticket, live chat and knowledge base channels.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset, constantly looking to identify ways to reduce customer pain points.
  • Be the lead interface for Support to a range of vendors including Microsoft, Symantec, Bit Defender, Vade, Skykick, Talk Talk etc.
  • Work cross functionally with a range of internal teams including Product and Software Development on the introduction of new products to the Cloud Marketplace.

  • Exceptional people management skills.
