Lloyd Gardner, Account Director at Giacom, spent a week using the Google Pixel 9 as his work phone. From early starts to long days on the road, he used the device as any business user would. Here’s what he had to say.

Smarter working with built-in AI

One of the standout features for Lloyd was Gemini¹, the Pixel 9’s built-in AI assistant. He used it throughout the week to create notes, reminders and action lists in between meetings and calls – without slowing down. “It helped me stay organised without interrupting my day,” he said.

Gemini can help users:

  • Summarise emails so they can prioritise what matters
  • Draft messages quickly – saving time when following up
  • Create to-do lists based on meetings or notes
  • Quickly find information across apps and content stored on the device

For people balancing a busy workload, Gemini acts like a personal assistant – helping manage the admin so they can focus on the work that counts.

Fast, reliable performance

Powered by the Tensor G4 chip and 12GB of RAM, the Pixel 9 handled day-to-day work easily. Lloyd regularly switched between emails, Teams, calls and messages, and described the experience as “very fast and responsive.”

He also pointed out the phone’s solid build quality, saying it felt well-made and ready for everyday business use.

Power that lasts the day

Lloyd often starts work around 6:30 in the morning and finishes up around 6pm. The Pixel 9 kept up. “Even after a full day of calls, texts, and emails, the battery was still high when I got back,” he said.

The device offers over 24 hours of battery life with standard use. Extreme Battery Saver² can extend that even further – up to 100 hours. It also supports ultra-fast charging, meaning less time plugged in and more time working.

Designed for long-term use

The Pixel 9 features a 6.3″ display³ with Corning® Gorilla® Glass for added durability. It’s sharp, bright, and built to handle the realities of mobile work.

It also comes with seven years of software and security updates⁴, which makes it a longer-term investment for businesses looking to reduce upgrade cycles and minimise waste.

Lloyd’s verdict:

“The battery life is fantastic. It looks great. And the AI tools helped me get more done,” Lloyd said. If your customers need a business phone that’s reliable, secure, and built for productivity, the Google Pixel 9 delivers.

² Estimated battery life based on testing using a median Pixel user battery usage profile across a mix of talk, data, standby and use of limited other features that are default in Extreme Battery Saver mode (which disables various features including 5G connectivity). Battery testing conducted on a major US operator network. Battery testing conducted in California in mid-2024 on pre-production hardware and software using default settings, except that Extreme Battery Saver mode was enabled. Tests began with phone fully charged. Battery life depends upon many factors, and usage of certain features will decrease battery life. Actual battery life may be lower. Over time, Pixel software will manage battery performance to help maintain battery health as your battery ages. See g.co/pixel/batteryhealth for details.

³ Screen has rounded corners. When measured diagonally as a rectangle, screen is 6.3 inches. Actual viewable area is less. Dimension may vary by configuration and manufacturing process.

⁴ Pixel updates for 7 years from when the device first became available on the Google Store in the US. See g.co/pixel/updates for details.
