When it comes to integration in business devices, AI delivers much more than a quick and easy way to draft some text. It’s time to introduce your customers to the wider benefits of AI-powered laptops, smartphones and tablets.

The most high-profile application of AI to date is probably content creation. For example, most people will be aware of ChatGPT, the generative AI chatbot that can create all kinds of content, from software programs to songs and poems.

However, generative tools such as ChatGPT are only part of the story. Leading manufacturers of laptops, smartphones and tablets are already taking the AI-powered user experience to the next level. The impact of integrating AI into operating systems and apps extends way beyond content creation, delivering a highly attractive range of benefits, including enhanced productivity, better security, faster processing and smarter resource management.

Optimising device performance

Time is money. AI-powered devices can perform tasks faster and more accurately than traditional smartphones, laptops and tablets, saving users valuable minutes and increasing productivity. AI can also learn from user behaviour and preferences, offering a more tailored experience.

It’s not just about improving working conditions. By being more productive and efficient, your customers can achieve more and serve their customers better. For example, the sales team can spend less time on admin and more time on winning business. The support team can deliver better service and response times, reducing the risk of degrading customer loyalty.

AI is also revolutionising smartphone battery life. This is critical for business users, many of whom are reliant on mobile devices to remain productive and connected while on the move.

Samsung and Google now have AI features such as adaptive battery and intelligent power saving, which are constantly working to optimise power consumption and extend battery life. By analysing usage patterns, AI can adjust the phone’s settings to ensure battery optimisation.

Improving productivity

An Intel-commissioned survey of 6,000 respondents across Germany, the UK and France identified that people cumulatively lose nearly 15 hours a week on ‘digital chores’, such as meeting transcriptions or drafting emails.

AI-powered tools help improve work efficiency, streamlining everyday tasks so that users can focus their time more productively. For example, with Samsung Galaxy AI’s Circle to Search feature users can instantly launch a Google search simply by circling text or an image on screen. There’s no need to switch apps to a search engine or do any typing.

Paired with the S Pen, Note Assist enables Samsung Galaxy users to jot down notes, which are automatically formatted, summarised, organised and enriched with follow-up actions. Colleagues can share access to the same live notes, encouraging fast and effective collaboration. The Transcript Assist feature enables users to record speech and create a transcription of what was said.

On Windows 11 laptops, Copilot is a conversational chat interface that enables users to search for information, generate text such as emails and summaries, and create images based on text prompts. It’s embedded in popular Microsoft 365 apps, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams (for a licence fee).

Creating high-quality videos

New technology has made video an affordable component of the marketing mix for businesses of all sizes, including SMEs with limited budgets. AI-powered apps can enable the marketing team to create high-quality, professional-looking presentations, using built-in features such as auto-framing, background blur and voice clarity enhancement. AI can also help save time and money in online content creation, enabling web developers to keep video content refreshed cost effectively.

Fewer IT issues and downtime

Using AI-powered laptops with Windows 11 can potentially lead to fewer IT issues by enabling faster and more efficient diagnostics, proactive maintenance and personalised support. On average, users have reported an 80% reduction in helpdesk tickets (source: Microsoft).

Imagine how much of an asset that could be for, say, a finance team. It means they’ll have more time to focus on key tasks, such as credit control, PAYE and budgeting, with less risk of costly distractions or downtime.

With so much to offer for business users, AI-powered devices can help your customers stay one step ahead in a highly competitive marketplace. It’s a golden opportunity to start the conversation and show them how upgrading can help them work smarter, deliver a better experience to their customers, collaborate more effectively with colleagues and ensure their business tech is future proofed.
