Transforming Endpoint Management with Microsoft Intune: A Partner Perspective from Advantage Cloud Solutions

We spoke with Jonathan Brown, Business Development Director at Advantage Cloud Solutions, to learn how Intune is helping their customers transform IT operations and security posture. 

“Intune is central to our modern endpoint management strategy and has significantly transformed our IT management landscape by streamlining device management and enhancing security protocols,” says Brown. “By leveraging Intune’s robust capabilities, we’ve been able to centralise the management of our customers’ devices—desktops, laptops, and mobile devices—under a single platform. This consolidation not only simplified administrative tasks but also ensured consistent policy enforcement across all devices, reducing the risk of security breaches and compliance issues.” 

Two recent deployments illustrate the impact. One involved a professional services firm seeking secure remote work capabilities, while the other supported a public-sector client transitioning from on-prem Active Directory to a cloud-native model. In both cases, Advantage Cloud Solutions began with a focused discovery engagement to assess the existing environment and align technical planning with business goals. 

“We implemented Conditional Access policies, compliance baselines, app protection for BYOD, and automated patching configurations,” Brown explains. “One client adopted Autopilot for device provisioning, while another benefited from Win32 app deployment and PowerShell scripting to remove unauthorised software. We also layered on MFA enforcement and Windows Update rings to align with Cyber Essentials Plus.” 

The results were immediate and measurable. One customer saw a 40% drop in support tickets for software installs within 90 days. Another gained full visibility across all corporate devices, enabling faster onboarding and more accurate inventory reporting. Both closed gaps identified in external compliance audits. 

“Feedback from both customers has been overwhelmingly positive,” Brown notes. “One IT team told us Intune ‘removed the guesswork’ and empowered them to support a growing hybrid workforce with confidence. Another appreciated the ability to self-serve app deployments and the consistency Intune brought to device setup and lifecycle management.” 

Unexpected benefits also emerged. Pairing Intune’s app deployment with tools like PDQ Connect and Winget scripting gave the team more granular control over non-Microsoft software than initially expected. Executive engagement early in the project also proved critical, helping to align the rollout with board-level goals and accelerate adoption. 

“Intune’s advanced security features played a crucial role in safeguarding our customers’ sensitive data,” Brown adds. “With conditional access policies, we ensure that only compliant and secure devices access corporate resources. Integration with Entra ID allowed for seamless identity and access management, further strengthening their security posture.” 

Beyond security and compliance, Intune also delivered a better user experience. 

“Employees experienced greater flexibility and productivity as they could securely access corporate resources from any device, anywhere,” says Brown. “Intune’s self-service capabilities empowered users to manage their own devices, reducing dependency on IT support and fostering a sense of autonomy. Our customers noted an increase in employee satisfaction and engagement.” 

Looking ahead, Advantage Cloud Solutions is scaling its Intune offering through a co-funded campaign with Giacom and Microsoft. Their strategy begins with a two-day discovery engagement, followed by a clear roadmap for licensing optimisation, compliance alignment, and full deployment. 

“It’s become a key differentiator for our managed services portfolio—especially for SMEs moving toward zero-trust security models,” Brown concludes.
