Giacom conquers the Keswick Three Peaks
Giacom, leading provider of Comms, Cloud and Hardware services, recently completed its flagship charity challenge, hiking the Keswick Three Peaks. Sponsored by CityFibre for the third consecutive year, this remarkable event saw Giacom team members come together to support worthy causes while encouraging team spirit and enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Lake District National Park.
The team embarked on an 18-mile journey, ascending over 1,000 meters across the Keswick Three Peaks. The challenging trek was undertaken in memory of Giacom’s coworkers, raising an impressive £17,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation and The British Red Cross. These funds will significantly impact the lives of those in need, continuing the legacy of the team’s colleagues.
Terry O’Brien, CEO of Giacom, expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Keswick Three Peaks challenge. Your dedication and effort are truly inspiring. A special thank you to CityFibre for their continued sponsorship and support. We couldn’t have asked for better partners.”
CityFibre’s involvement has been pivotal in the success of this event. Andy Wilson, Sales Director, Business at CityFibre, reflected on the experience, “This year was absolutely amazing. Each year has got progressively harder, but we really enjoyed it.” Matthew Dyke, Giacom Account Manager at CityFibre, added, “It’s a unique event that means we get to meet different members of the Giacom team. It is a great way to get to know people on a different level. Away from the office, people let their guard down.”
This challenge is a cornerstone of Giacom’s ESG strategy, emphasising community support and environmental awareness. It not only raises significant funds for charity but also strengthens the bonds among colleagues, reinforcing Giacom’s culture of teamwork and social responsibility. The event highlights the company’s commitment to giving back and provides a valuable opportunity for its team to utilise volunteer days for impactful causes.
